On Wednesday, February 28, 2018 Curtis Durant, an 8th grade student at Mesa Linda Middle School, was presented with the Rotary Club’s S.T.A.R. award and a gift card at the Rotary Club of Adelanto luncheon. The student is also asked what they want to be when they grow up; Curtis answered that he wants to be a Marine.
Mrs. Tuttle, Mesa Linda Middle School’s principal wrote the following introduction that was read at the Rotary Club’s meeting:
“Curtis started off the school year pretty rough. He was constantly getting in trouble for being defiant. He was not following school expectations and could be very disrespectful to adults on campus. He has made a huge change in his behavior. He is now attending his classes and staying there for the entire class. He is respectful to adults on campus is follows our expectations. We are so proud of the progress he has made and can’t wait to see him walk the stage for promotion on the last day of school!”
