On Wednesday, February 21, 2018 O'Shaun Rodriguez, a 5th grade student at Ted Vick School, was presented with the Rotary Club's S.T.A.R. award and a gift card at the Rotary Club of Adelanto luncheon. The student is also asked what they want to be when they grow up; O'Shaun answered that he wants to be a basketball player and go to UCLA. If he is injured, his back-up plan is to be an engineer.
Mrs. Rifkin, O'Shaun's teacher wrote the following introduction that was read at the Rotary Club's meeting:
"O'Shaun was nominated by our staff as he is a model student. He always strives to improve in all he does. His classmates look up to him because he is a peacekeeper, athlete, and protector of the learning environment. O'Shaun can always be counted on to be a leader, make great choices, and take care of his friends. He is always respectful, responsible, and amazing!"
