On Wednesday, January 27 and Thursday, January 28, 2016 the Adelanto Elementary School District’s Family Engagement Center opened at Columbia Middle School.
Over 100 parents and community members came out to take part in the classes. There was an air of excitement as our parents and community members learned how to make a healthy fruit salad and how to communicate with their family members. Some participants learned ways to help their children with their Common Core homework. Other participants learned about the components of the computer and basic computer functions. We also had over 40 parents and community members begin the journey of learning how to speak, read, and write in English.
All classes are free and will be held every Wednesday and Thursday until April 21, 2016. Free child care is provided. The Family Center will give more details about each class as well as the day and time the class meets.
Join us every Wednesday and Thursday at Columbia Middle School. We hope to see you there!
