Rotary Star October 26, 2016

The Rotary Club of Adelanto recognizes two Adelanto Elementary School District students, one on the third Wednesday and one on the fourth Wednesday of each month, throughout the school year. The students must meet at least one of the following criteria in order to be nominated for the S.T.A.R. award, "Striving To Achieve Results":

  • Improvement in GPA
  • Improvement in Attitude
  • Improvement in Attendance

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 Joshua Fenstermaker, a 1st grade student at Donald F. Bradach Elementary School, was presented with the Rotary Club’s S.T.A.R. award and a gift card at their luncheon. The student is also asked what they want to be when they grow up; Joshua jokingly answered that he wants to be “Batman” but then said he wants to be a dirt bike rider.

Ms. Ordinola, Joshua’s teacher, wrote the following introduction that was read at the Rotary Club’s meeting:

"Joshua has improved from just knowing a few letters and sounds to recognition of CVC words and starting to read.  He has made a tremendous effort in just a few short weeks."
Ms. Ordinola
