Adelanto School District Goals 2012-2013

The Adelanto School District affirms that our primary responsibility is to educate our students, thus equipping them to become productive citizens and to make positive contributions to society.

Therefore, the District sets forth the following goals:

1.

To improve relations and foster transparency among stakeholders, we will be ethical and courteous in our dealings and encourage professional, forthright, and respectful interaction.

2.

To achieve the best possible results for our students, we will value parental participation in their children’s education and actively cultivate it.

3.

We will concentrate our efforts on teaching students so that they are grade-level proficient as measured by California state standards and in keeping with federal requirements.

4.

To best prepare our students for the demands of the modern workplace, we will teach them to learn through the use of technology.

5.

To help develop well-rounded students, we will provide extra-curricular enrichment opportunities.

6.

To advance favorable learning conditions across all school sites, we will implement a uniform, comprehensive, and equitable code of conduct for students which will allow for early intervention, positive reinforcement, and consistent consequences.

7.

In view of the State of California’s current financial crisis, we will strive to meet the needs of our students through fiscal responsibility, including a balanced budget and the maintenance of legally required reserved funds.
