About the mylifepath Alternative Care Discounts Program
Blue Shield of California (Blue Shield) members can participate in the mylifepath Alternative Care Discounts Program, made available by Blue Shield. The mylifepath Alternative Care Discounts gives you access to discounts on alternative health services - such as acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy. American Specialty Health Networks, Inc. (ASH Networks) administers the mylifepath Alternative Care Discounts Program and screens, credentials and manages the mylifepath network practitioners.

How to use mylifepath discount services…

1. Select a practitioner from the mylifepath network.
2. Call the practitioner or facility to make an appointment.
3. Present your Blue Shield ID card at the time of your appointment. (You must show your card to receive the discount.)

*Members with covered benefits (HMO, PPO or POS) under another plan or policy should first exhaust their plan benefit prior to utilizing the mylifepath discount program.

Some examples of discount programs include:

Acupuncture: Receive 25% off or more on all professional services including:

• examinations
• acupuncture or electro-acupuncture
• adjunctive therapeutic procedures or modalities
• other related Acupuncture Services

Note: Does not include herbs

Chiropractic: Receive 25% off or more on all professional services including:

• examinations
• manipulative treatment
• adjunctive therapeutic procedures or modalities
• chiropractic appliances
• other related Chiropractic Services

Massage Therapy: Receive 25% off or more on all professional services including:

• Swedish Massage
• Deep Muscle and Deep Tissue Massage
• Trigger Point Therapy
• Shiatsu and Acupressure
• Reflexology
• Sports Massage
