Dear Parents and Students,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to George Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School, a school rich in tradition and history serving students in the high desert since 1952.

Each day we expect our staff and students to be respectful, responsible and resourceful.  Every staff member is dedicated to the success of our students and we are eager to work together, with our families, as a team to make this a great school year.

The committed staff at George Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School will act to heighten students’ enthusiasm to become lifelong Explorers through the arts.  Every experience, inside and outside of the classroom affects the learning that can take place in the classrooms.  Therefore, the home and school will be committed to working collaboratively to build relationships that will help students develop their potential to the fullest; learn how to work productively alone and in teams; learn how to assess the quality of their work; improve their processes of critical and creative thinking and take a greater responsibility for their learning.

Also at George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, “Failure” is simply not an option for students.  To help students engage in constant improvement, it is important that we work as a team (teachers, students & parents) to help foster a nurturing, encouraging, and caring environment that will propel our students along their educational journey as they, “Reflect the Past, Explore the Present and Invent the Future”.

Through constant dedication in continuous improvement and team work, we at George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School look forward to transforming our school into a School of Quality where everyone soars!  This year we developed a new motto:  “We Can and We Will…”  We believe that we can help our students achieve and we will make that belief a reality!
