Principal's Message:
George Visual and Performing Arts School is the first and only K-8 visual and performing arts school in the High Desert. We are unique. And it is our mission to empower students to be successful through the arts.
We are a standards-based school that strives for academic excellence with the California Content Standards. We bring access to the content standards with differentiated instruction strategies. We enhance our core classes with the visual and performing arts.
Our school, however, is not just about singing, drawing, and dancing. It's about developing what will be the more important skills of the 21st Century - the ability to work with others and to communicate.
The growing sectors of our economy are moving toward those who are able to work with others and persuasively present themselves, an idea, or a product. The integration of the visual and performing arts into the school curriculum provides the necessary training to be proficient in these areas.
All of our students will have opportunities to hone sharp their academic skills while participating in performances or art galleries throughout the New Year. We are looking forward to inviting you to all of them.
