Principal's Message:
Greetings Ted Vick Families!
I am very excited about this school year. We are making great strides in
the area of student achievement. We are right on target with our goal of
having all of our students achieving proficiency in both language arts
and math. In an effort to move all of our students to proficiency, we
will once again offer before, after and within the school day
intervention programs.
As you read through your weekly notes home, you will notice some
exciting activities beginning at Ted Vick this year, including the
addition of an after school orchestra program and our new college bound
focus. We added a sixth and seventh grade AVID class this year, and plan
to expand our AVID program to both the fifth and the eighth grade next
year. In addition to adding the AVID elective classes, we will be
practicing AVID strategies school wide. We believe that every student on
our campus should have the opportunity to attend college and will work
diligently to encourage our students to take every opportunity made
available to them.
Parent participation is critical to student success. I look forward to
working closely with all of our parent volunteers. We have many
opportunities for parent involvement on our campus including membership
on our School Site Council, PTA, ELAC and GATE committees. We also offer
a variety of educational opportunities for parents including English,
parenting and health classes. If you are interested in volunteering,
