High Desert Code.org Workshop at Gus Franklin

Code.org at Gus Franklin

Gus Franklin STEM Academy hosted the High Desert Code.org workshop.  Teachers from the Hesperia, Snowline and Adelanto districts engaged in lesson planning, learning how to code and the benefits of teaching children how to code.

The trainer, Dominic, is a teacher and technology coach in the LAUSD and on the weekend he offers these free Code.org sessions around Southern California.  Mrs. Sandberg graciously organized the event.

The curriculum is free and anyone can learn!

Gus Franklin was proud to host the event.

9-11 Tribute at Adelanto Elementary School

9-11 Tribute 2016

September 11, 2016 marked the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the world trade center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 which crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  Here at Adelanto Elementary School, to commemorate this most important event, we’ve organized our 3rd Annual special tribute to those lives lost on that fateful day in 2001.  This year, as the date of the anniversary neared, our teachers, students, and office staff worked together to make this annual event meaningful for ALL in attendance.
